Accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the power grid and promoting the construction of a new type of power system

　　On January 16th, State Grid Corporation of China organized a feasibility study review for the Gansu Zhejiang ultra-high voltage direct current project, marking significant progress in the preliminary work of the project. As a key transmission project of the 14th Five Year Plan, this project is the first full capacity ultra-high voltage flexible straight project in China. After the completion of this project, it will add 8 million kilowatts of power transmission capacity to Zhejiang, support the clean energy of Zhejiang, and assist in the green and low-carbon development of the economy and society.

　　Gansu Zhejiang ultra-high voltage direct current is an important project to assist State Grid Zhejiang in building a provincial-level demonstration zone for new power systems. Currently, the company is building a "resource allocation based strong main network, efficient interactive new distribution network, and comprehensive service-oriented digital power grid", creating a new ecosystem of "market policy management" institutional mechanisms, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the power grid, and systematically promoting the construction of provincial-level demonstration areas for new power systems.

　　As of the end of December 2023, the installed capacity of wind and solar new energy power generation in Zhejiang has reached 39.4 million kilowatts, accounting for over 30% of the total installed capacity in the province, and achieving the goal of Zhejiang's "14th Five Year Plan for Wind and Solar Doubling" more than two years ahead of schedule. New energy is gradually becoming a new engine for green and low-carbon development in Zhejiang. How to support the rapid growth of new energy? This year, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power proposed to build a resource allocation oriented strong main grid, increase investment in major power projects, and estimate that the investment in power grid construction will exceed 32.7 billion yuan, setting a new high for the 14th Five Year Plan. The plan is to start construction of 3003 kilometers of 110 kV and above transmission lines and 25.84 million kVA of substations. At the same time, we will also improve the existing security defense system, strengthen the research on new security mechanisms and balanced theoretical systems, accelerate the promotion and application of provincial-level full electromagnetic simulation platforms, start the construction of the Wenzhou Rui'an 500 kV new energy gathering station innovation demonstration project, and create a Zhejiang model for large-scale centralized consumption of new energy.
