click count: With the gradual increase in the proportion of non fossil energy, the consumption side energy consumption needs to be more flexible, and the energy supply and demand connection will become closer. This puts higher demands on improving energy consumption elasticity, intelligence level, and independent supply capacity. At present, China's energy consumption side still faces institutional constraints, and it is necessary to take the transformation of the consumption structure of major energy consuming industries as the driving force, strengthen the coordinated transformation of energy consumption and production, and take multiple measures to guide the green and low-carbon transformation of energy consumption through policies.
Trends in Energy Consumption under the New Energy System
The level of electrification and intelligence in energy consumption continues to improve. Electrification is an important way to promote energy structure adjustment and green low-carbon transformation. It is an important measure to support the construction of a new energy system and a new power system, and to help achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality. With the rapid development of digitalization and intelligence in energy systems, new power supply technologies such as intelligent microgrids, virtual power plants, comprehensive energy services, and energy big data centers have emerged. These new technologies and formats are mainly deployed on the consumption side, changing traditional energy supply models and consumption behaviors. Their commercial application will effectively improve the operational control, decision-making and regulation, resource allocation, risk warning capabilities and levels of the new power system, further enrich the application scenarios of power consumption, and accelerate the substitution of electricity for terminal energy consumption.
The flow of energy consumption space is more complex. In the future, the trend of coordinated development between large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases and distributed energy has become inevitable. Compared with the traditional centralized energy supply mode, the energy channels on the consumer side under the new energy system are more diversified, including remote consumption from new energy bases, as well as on-site consumption from various distributed energy sources such as rooftop photovoltaics, small-scale wind power, biomass power generation, and new energy storage. The boundary between energy consumers and producers will become blurred, and the flow of supply and demand will become more complex. On the one hand, the carrying pressure of the distribution system will increase, and there is an urgent need to upgrade and support new energy storage facilities; On the other hand, the increasing uncertainty in demand forecasting and timely consumption of energy poses challenges to energy system planning and operation management.
The interaction between energy consumption and supply has been enhanced. With the high-quality development of the economy and society, the continuous improvement of people's living standards, and the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather, the national electricity load has been rising year by year, showing significant characteristics such as high peak values, large peak valley differences, and double peaks in summer and winter. The stability of energy supply, mainly based on renewable energy, is greatly affected by seasons and extreme weather, and the energy system will inevitably face an increase in supply volatility and randomness. The contradiction of energy surplus or shortage caused by short-term energy spatial and temporal mismatch will be further highlighted, and it is urgent to change the feedback mode of energy supply and demand regulation. Before the commercial application of long-term energy storage, both the supply and demand sides should exert efforts in both directions. In addition to adjusting the power generation capacity on the energy supply side, the energy consumption side also needs to explore more flexible energy consumption methods. Based on the seasonal and temporal characteristics of electricity supply and demand, as well as the tight supply and demand situation, it is necessary to actively change its own electricity consumption habits, improve energy consumption elasticity, adapt to new energy supply models, respond quickly to dynamic changes in supply, adjust consumption or consumption sources to restore supply-demand balance as soon as possible.
