click count: Under the "dual carbon" strategic goal, concepts such as zero carbon parks and near zero carbon industrial parks have been proposed, and the participation enthusiasm of local governments, enterprises, and social organizations is high. But how to build a zero carbon park, there is a lack of an executable standard system for a period of time.
On May 22nd, the author learned from the Market Supervision Administration of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region that in order to solidly promote the landing of zero carbon industrial parks and form executable, referenceable, and replicable regulatory standards, Inner Mongolia has recently released the local standard "Measurement and Evaluation Specification for Zero Carbon Industrial Parks". Based on the already released local standards "Evaluation Method for Green Power Application" and "Construction Specification for Zero Carbon Industrial Parks", Inner Mongolia has taken the lead in forming a complete local standard system for zero carbon industrial parks nationwide.
Local version of zero carbon industrial park standards fills the gap
A zero carbon industrial park generally refers to a park where the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly generated within a certain area is offset through technology, trading, and other means within a certain period of time to achieve zero carbon emissions.
As a traditional energy province, Inner Mongolia has abundant wind and solar resources, with wind energy technology capable of developing 1.46 billion kilowatts, accounting for about 57% of the country's total, and solar energy technology capable of developing 9.4 billion kilowatts, accounting for about 21% of the country's total. With unlimited potential for wind and solar energy, Inner Mongolia is an advantageous area for building zero carbon industrial parks.
In April 2022, the Ordos Zero Carbon Industrial Park was officially completed and put into operation. The park will build a new power system with new energy as the main body, a zero carbon digital operating system, and a green new industrial cluster as the three pillars. It is planned to help the local area achieve a green new industrial output value of 300 billion yuan by 2025, create 100000 green high-tech jobs, and achieve an annual reduction target of 100 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Subsequently, from the autonomous region to cities and counties, Inner Mongolia boldly carried out zero carbon practices and emerged multiple zero carbon concept parks, including the Qipanjing Industrial Park in Ordos City, the Dalhan Maoming'an United Banner Zero Carbon Park in Baotou City, and the 10 million kilowatt wind solar hydrogen storage ammonia integrated zero carbon industrial park in Tongliao City.
Based on the construction practice of zero carbon industrial parks, Inner Mongolia has taken the lead in formulating a local standard system for zero carbon industrial parks nationwide, providing unified and clear forward-looking guidance for the construction of zero carbon industrial parks from aspects such as planning layout, statistical accounting, emission reduction path, evaluation and improvement, and information disclosure.
